You Have Been Told to Avoid Fat to Lose Weight - But is Fat Really Fattening?


Everywhere you go you see fat-free foods. They are on every aisle in the grocery stores and all over the menus in restaurants. Despite this, more people than ever before are overweight. Even those who regularly consume these fat-free and taste-free foods. I wonder why. Don't you?

Just about every diet plan you find tells you first and foremost to "cut the fat," "strip the fat," "eliminate the fat" from your diet. It's no wonder we are all programmed to ask for the low-cal dressing for our salad and margarine instead of butter. But why, if everyone is making all of these great fat-free choices, are so many people still fat? Why is it so hard to lose weight?

The reason is because the wrong information is being given out over and over again. You have been told to avoid fat to lose weight and feel healthier, but when you cut out all the fat from your diet you feel worse. Not healthy at all. The media has done a fantastic job of brainwashing everyone into believing that fats are bad.

I know that when I go shopping with my mom she reads every label and discards anything with too many fats. Maybe you do that too. It's understandable.

Would it surprise you to know that many of the people following a low-fat diet are some of the most unhealthy people around? They don't find it easy to lose weight either!

So why is it this? The reason is that low-fat diets make you hungry! If you do not consume enough fat your brain will not signal that you are full, and oftentimes you will end up overeating. At the very least you will be completely unsatisfied and looking for your next meal or snack in short order.

Fat is essential to your health, and avoiding it like the plague will not help you to lose weight. In fact, it may very well hinder you.

So what should you do?

butterFirst thing, avoid low-fat foods. What!? Yes, give them the heave-ho! These foods are extremely unhealthy. When the fat is removed, often other fillers are added that are extremely bad for you. Go ahead and eat the regular food item and simply eat in moderation.

Next, throw out your margarine and replace it with butter. Margarine is full of chemicals and it is far better to eat the natural butter. If you are interested in keeping it as healthy as possible, purchase organic or raw butter. You'll love the taste.

You will be amazed at how much easier it is to lose weight when you stop starving your body with these low-calorie foods. Those pounds you've been trying to lose will be easier than ever to get rid of.
